Foucault, in particular, was an expert at this. Modern day wannabe academics adopt the same approach hoping that no-one will be brave enough to call their work out as word-salad dross, because if they did, the woke author would do what all postmodernist academics did - fudge the issue by exclaiming, 'You don't have the intellect to understand my work!'. The main difference now is modern day academics only churn out solipsistic mush, devoid of rigour and unable to withstand even the mildest intellectual examination. Sociology should be banished from the academy, as should most of the humanities. Not that these have zero value, but they cannot be properly tested or judged without the bias of subjective opinion, which has left them open to the corrupting dogma of political ideology. That's been the case for decades, and for that reason we as a society should refuse to acknowledge them as worthwhile academic subjects, nor give them the political and cultural capital they use them for.
